Train's success speaks as much to the band's rare ability for writing incredibly memorable songs as it does to the state of rock music at the time. Train's first major success, 2001's "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)," sounded like a breath of fresh air in an early-2000s landscape ruled by brooding post-grunge and nu-metal bands.
Train went on to have a string of successes, five additional Top 10 albums, and six more Top 40 tracks that continued well into the 2010s after the accompanying album, Drops of Jupiter, went double platinum. Subsequent hits like "Hey Soul Sister" and "Marry Me," as well as 2012's Latin-inspired "Drive By," cemented the duo's status as adult contemporary sensations.
