Halloween is just around the corner, and the best way to spend this spooky season is with your kids right here in Niagara Falls. All month long, Niagara Falls is full of events that the whole family can enjoy. Keep reading for our top Halloween inspired events!


Heartland Forest Annual Pumpkinfest

Fall has arrived and it’s time for our 15th Annual Pumpkinfest. This will be a “Spooktacular” Outdoor Halloween Celebration that includes a family friendly haunted treehouse, Tootsie Express train ride, pumpkin rolling contest, crafts, scavenger hunt and our signature Trail of Treats!

You can register for the morning or the afternoon time slot.

The Niagara Region’s longest-running ghost tour is Fort George Ghost Tours. Candlelight ghost tours of Fort George are available throughout the Spring and Summer (May to September), but there are special Halloween ghost tours available throughout October that highlight the scariest parts of Niagara-on-the-haunted Lake’s Fort George. This is a 2-hour walking tour that includes stories that are too terrifying to tell on the Summer tours and opens a building (the Officers’ Quarters) that is normally off-limits during the regular ghost tours.

An evening of spooky tales at the spot of Canada’s bloodiest battlefield. It’s the prime setting for hair-raising stories that took place here many years ago…you may even see a ghost or two as they have been known to frequent the premises….

Admission to All Hallows’ Eve at Old Fort Erie includes entry to the fort, guided tour, and concludes with the burning of a Guy Fawkes effigy. Adult admission is $13.50, children (6-12) $8.41.

For the ultimate Halloween experience, Haunt Manor Hayrides and Haunted House is the place to be! There are 8 incredible haunted houses and a theatrical hayride. This activity is recommended for kids 13+. 


Pumpkinville at Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm

Pumpkinville will return to Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm, where families can enjoy the traditional fall celebration once more.

The free family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Happy Rolph’s, 650 Read Rd. This year’s Pumpkinville will include activities for all ages, such as crafts, face painting, and a themed Betty Loo Photo Booth, among other things.

Attendees can sign up to receive one of 500 free pumpkins, courtesy of Meridian Credit Union. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for a pumpkin at stcatharines.ca/Pumpkinville. Registrants are required to choose a time slot for pickup on the day of the event.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the Niagara Ice Dogs’ mascot, Bones, and enter to win game tickets. St. Catharines Fire Services will also be present to talk with families about fire safety and prevention.

Niagara ghost tours of Drummond Hill provide a unique opportunity to learn about Niagara Falls by visiting one of Canada’s most historic cemeteries in the evening. It doesn’t need to be Halloween to travel through “Bleakstone Manor”. You and an opponent compete against each other to see who is the ghost and goblin blasting champion, all while traveling in a car through a spooky haunted hotel! Located inside the Great Canadian Midway on Clifton Hill, you can ride alone (must be 42″ tall), or with a parent if under the height requirement.
