Bass Pro Shops: Niagara Grand Opening

For all you outdoor lovers! You’ve waited a long time for this, but the Niagara-based Bass Pro Shops opens this week!
Bass Pro Shops is geared to fishermen, boaters, hunters, campers, and the general nature lover. They have a vast array of fishing and boating equipment, outdoor cooking gear, footwear and nature-themed gifts — and all this just in time for Christmas. Bass Pro Shops in America’s leading outdoor retailer with stores all across America and just beginning to boom in Canada. Until now, Ontario had just one of these stores, situated in Vaughan. With the addition of this Niagara-on-the-Lake location (300 Taylor Rd. A#1, next to the Outlet Collection at Niagara), it’s just another exciting addition to come along to the vast complex with over 520,000 square feet of shopping at the Outlet Collection at Niagara. You cannot miss the Bass Pro Shops Outpost — it’s conveniently located along the QEW at the Glendale Avenue exit.

Bass Pro Shops is proud to not only sell outdoor equipment, but they are dedicated to teaching all people — young and old — to learn to love, enjoy and conserve the great outdoors. Their conservation effort includes partnering with and supporting the efforts of many organizations that work towards conserving the nation’s natural resources. Some of the key Bass Pro Shops partners in the new Niagara location include Heartland Forest, Long Point Waterfowl, and Pheasants Forever Canada.

Wednesday, November 19th, 2014

Bass Pro Shops will be hosting an “Evening for Conservation” event which will begin at 6:00 pm, with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 6:30 pm. Celebrity guest appearances, local conservation group educational booths and interactive displays. For every $1 spent in the store during this event, .50 cents will be donated to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Ducks Unlimited Canada, Trout Unlimited Canada, National Wild Turkey Federation of Canada, and Rocky Mountain Elk Federation of Canada.

Celebrity guests include: Wendel Clark, Owen Nolan, Jimmy Houston, Dave Mercer, Rob Keck, Kevin Beasley, Paul Beasley, Theresa Vail, Lance Thornton, and Luke Snyder.

“Santa’s Wonderland” will be introduced and opened as well. It offers a variety of crafts and goodies and a free photo with Santa. “Santa’s Wonderland” will remain open until Christmas Eve on Wednesday, December 24th, 2014, and the hours are Monday to Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m.

On this first night, the first 125 children to visit Santa’s Village will receive a free prize!

This is the official Grand Opening day! Opening an hour earlier than usual at 8:00 am, they will have a variety of merchandise which will be given away to the first 200 customers. They will also welcome back some of the Wednesday evening celebrities in the morning.

Friday, November 21st, 2014
Throughout this day industry professionals will run product demonstrations taking place throughout the store. They will also have television celebrities Shawn Micheals and Keith Mark, co-hosts of MacMillan River Adventures on the Outdoor Channel available for autographs.
Saturday, November 22nd & Sunday, November 23rd, 2014
On these days, they will have Toyota on site offering visitors the opportunity to test drive a brand new Toyota through their Ride N Drive event.

Thursday, November 20 – Gift cards to the first 200 customers, given out randomly, with denominations between $5 and $100.
Friday, November 21 – Columbia Beanies will go to the first 200 customers.
Saturday, November 22 – Bass Pro Shops lures will go to the first 200 customers.
Sunday, November 23 – Bass Pro Shops Tervis Tumblrs will go to the first 200 customers.
