Niagara Falls is known for it’s obvious beauty; all you just need to do is enter “Niagara Falls” in your search engine and you are bombarded with amazing photographs of the majestic wonder…the sunlight gleaming off the cascade waterfall, with it’s aqua coloured water jumping out at you and maybe even the Maid of the Mist boat ride in full seasonal swing below, but I’m shocked at the number of people that didn’t know that it’s illuminated at night! The view is absolutely astonishing at night, so there is no need to assume that after dusk the show is over and Niagara Falls closes its doors and rolls up the red carpet until the next day. On the contrary, not only do the Falls light up every colour of the rainbow, but it’s companion of Fun by the Falls, Clifton Hill, dazzles and keeps the show rolling until the wee hours of the night!
Clifton Hill is chalk full of attractions that are open until late in the evening and that are open year-round, Holidays included. The Great Canadian Midway, for example, is open until 2:00 am everyday of the week. Its 70,000 square foot entertainment complex is jam-packed with arcade games, rides and even drinks upstairs in the neighbouring Boston Pizza Restaurant! The street itself is alive with light displays and further up the road is the massive Niagara Skywheel ride…a 175 foot ferris wheel that overlooks the Falls. It captures every photographers attention and imagination. The gondolas are enclosed for more comfortable enjoyment, allowing for late hours and flexible availability to the customer because of its ability to stay open regardless of most weather conditions, including heavy winds, snowy days and downpours…all while being individually climate-controlled. You also have a number of other attractions to choose from including miniature golf courses, wax museums, haunted houses and 3D, 4D and even 6D thrill rides such as the XD Ride Theatre.
Once the sun goes down, Rumours Night Club heats up and is located almost as you reach the peak of Clifton Hill. It contains a massive dance floor, a bevy of beautiful people, an amazing laser show and booming techno music with cool beverages to keep you feeling inspired!
There is something for everyone to enjoy after dusk in Niagara Falls, so don’t be limited to daytime venturing in the city. Come for the day, and stay for the night!
