Niagara Falls, ON – In celebration of the birth of the newest member of the royal family, The Niagara Falls Illumination Board will light up Niagara Falls in blue this evening from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to help mark this special occasion.

The illumination of Niagara Falls in commemoration of a royal visit or birth has long been part of the history of Niagara. In July of 2013, Niagara Falls was illuminated in blue to mark the birth of Prince George, illuminated in pink in May 2015, in honour of the birth of Princess Charlotte and again in blue in celebration of the birth of Prince Louis, in April of 2018.

The special illumination of the Falls in blue to commemorate the historic birth of the newest member of the royal family will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

All special illumination requests are reviewed and approved by the Niagara Falls Illumination Board, which has financed and operated the “illumination of Niagara Falls” since 1925. The Niagara Falls Illumination Board is made up of representatives from the City of Niagara Falls Ontario, City of Niagara Falls, New York, Ontario Power Generation Inc., New York Power Authority, New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Niagara Parks Commission. It is the Illumination Board’s responsibility and mandate to finance and maintain the nightly illumination of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.
