Whirlpool Golf Course
Rated as one of the top 100 courses in Canada, The Whirlpool Golf Course is located on a gorgeous landscape, with views overlooking the Niagara River Whirlpool and the Niagara Gorge. This course was rated as the 12th best public golf course in value in Canada, and the 49th best course in 2015.
It’s a challenging 18-hole championship course (par 72 and 7019 yardage), and was designed by an architect known around the world for his designs, Stanley Thompson.
This course was built in 1951 and held an international tournament by four top professional golfers in an exhibition match. Jimmy Demaret and Dr. Cary Middlecoff (U.S. players) versus Stan Leonard and Bob Gray (Canadian Players). A crowd of nearly 10,000 people witnesses the defeat of the Canadian players by only 4 strokes.
