Founder, Robert Ripley was an avid artist, a great athlete and a flamboyant character that travelled the world collecting artefacts and writing stories about his weird and unusual findings.
Overlooking the banks of the Niagara River, this historic Georgian home offers a picturesque setting along the River Recreation Trail. Surviving over two centuries, it is the oldest living building owned by the Niagara Parks Commission and pre-dates the War of 1812. This beautiful setting reflects how things were in the early 1800s and brings the legacy of the McFarland’s to life.
Step back in time and try your hand at setting type and working one of eight operating presses. Qualified staff provide guided tours, and there are interesting demonstrations and opportunities to "try it yourself".
